History
No one is entirely sure where Rysalke came from. She has spent her life as a commodity, held captive for her unusual abilities and less skilled, less scrupulous affairs. Virtually unable to care for herself, it seems unlikely she lived a free life for very long.
More recently she's been turning up at slave auctions, where her miraculous gift is displayed. The asking price has always been so high, it's uncertain whether her owners want to sell her or advertise that they have her.
Abilities
Rysalke has a severely mutated body that enables her to swim quite well and breathe water, but she is weak and awkward on land. In fact, she tends to spend most of her time in a wheelchair as it is difficult for her to walk. The only reason she is still alive is because her gift is too precious to allow to die.
She can purify water simply by taking it into her body. Her owners tend to demonstrate this by having her drink some foul water, the sort no one in their right mind could consume, and then spit back out the crystal-clear cleaned water. This does not appear to have any negative effects upon her, nor does she tire of purifying water.
