Survivor

OOC Information

These are the surviving humans that lived outside of the Dome during and after the War. Their bodies have adapted to the radiated earth. It is very slight compared to mutants but does differ them from the inhabitants of the Dome. They also have usually become a bit tougher then the typical human but this could just be caused by their tough life in the desert. They are extreme independent, growing up in the lawless desert towns. Their attitudes towards mutants are somewhat more relaxed as both have grown up nearby to each other. They do still have reasons to dislike each other due to their mutual hunt for food and water. When Survivors found the Dome, their was some rejoicing but still some concerns among them.. these dwellers seemed to have been left in the dark about the happenings in the deserts. They haven't been able to socially accept Mutants as completely human. Though this didn't completely stop Mutants or Survivors from joining the Dome. Once joined they usually become either miners, scavengers, or "terraformers" as an occupation. The great many still live in a Survivor town nearby to the Dome. Their own mindset when it comes to the planet is that they must make due with the environment as it is.

You come from outside the Dome. The dusty and gritty texture of sand assaults your senses continuously.

Like Citizens, Survivors start with three points in most statistics, but instead of Resources, Citizens have access to Scavenging abilities instead. At character generation, Survivors can spend four points to increase their statistics.

IC History

Life for the Survivor would barely be called a life in the modern world that we all know. They vary on their lifestyles and beginnings. Most survivors grew up with their parents, also survivors themselves, they instilled in their children the tenacity to survive the wasteland (also how to snipe a mutated hedgehog at 100 yards). They spend so much time learning how to survive, in many ways they never learn out to live.

The most common skill among the Survivors is Scavenging, and many make this their primary profession. They trade and salvage items from the past for things they need to survive now. Many have learned how to tinker with technology as well, sell their skills and fixed items to those with a few items in trade. The Dome has provided them a great place to sell their wares along with a place to seek relative safety.

The History that Survivors learn from their parents (and other travellers and wanderers) is that some time ago a war broke out that engulfed the world. The weaponry of this war were some sort of devices that gave off a great deal of 'glow', which have caused everything to die or worse mutate the earth to the way it is now. It would be wise to be careful becuase many traders had limbs fall off from handling glowing items.

New Florence is in many way an oasis for the Survivors, a town that has grown out of the dust and thrived… just outside of New Phoenix ('The Dome'), they make a great deal of money (and clean water) from the Dome's citizens. Recently, Mutants have increased the population even further, both from those mutants wishing to live a 'civilized' life and also those who roam the desert scaring humans away from their territories. Perhaps with mutants and citizens as allies, they may be able to soften their lives just a little bit, so that they may be able to experience life for fully (or at least be able to get a nice AK-47 and a few ammo clips).
