History
Vrig Avery was born in the fringes of what goes for the definition of 'society' these days. He was raised on the land by his parents, who were killed by mutants when he was just ten years old. Vrig was spared only because his father threw him under a group of rocks as the crazed mutants began to approach. For two days Vrig lay hidden as the mutants mutilated, and eventually began eating his parents corpses. After those two days a mixed group of Survivors and other mutants attacked and killed the pair. They found Vrig underneath the rocks and lured him out, whereupon he stabbed one of the mutants in the hand. Most of them found his tenacity hilarious, and soon assured the boy that these mutants meant no harm. After burying his parents, the group set out for New Florence to deposit Vrig for his safety. Along the way Vrig earned respect instead of hatred for the mutants that roamed the land, instead of the bloody hatred he had before. When they reached the settlement, one of the roamers set him up with a cousin, and there Vrig grew up learning how to survive in the new world.
Fifteen years have passed. Vrig is 25 now, still living in the settlement of New Florence, just in the shadow of the Dome. He keeps his distance from the Dome as much as possible, finding the people there snooty, yet backwards. He tends to stay near the settlement as much as possible, acting as a security member for the town; partly as a police officer, and partly as a protector against mutants and other threats.

Other than the basic slight natural resistance to radiation, Vrig is the basic normal human being (or what goes for it these days.)
Equipment
Living within the town limits of New Florence, Vrig doesn't usually carry a lot on him besides general weaponry (including his 10mm pistol, a semi-automatic rifle with 5 round clips, and a knife), and a water canteen. In his home rests his own battery-powered radio, usually tuned to the local radio station playing old-style music and a crazy DJ. Occasionally a strange object reminiscent of an old walkie-talkie (for those who know what one is) can be seen strapped to his shoulder.
Skills
Born and raised in the Wastes, Vrig is a natural Survivor, knowing how to live off the land in the new era. He also knows how to hold himself in hand-to-hand combat, whether it be armed or unarmed. He is also a very good marksman, having good practice not only with basic rifles and pistols, but also assault rifles such as the AK series or an M16 anything along those lines. He also fancies himself an at least slightly competent technician and mechanic, but usually goes to someone else, not always trusting his skill.
